Texture and scarring.

Rough or uneven skin, the soft pitting left by old breakouts, enlarged pores — the things that no amount of make-up quite smooths over. They respond to rebuilding the skin from within, rather than just resurfacing the top.

Why texture and scarring develop

Smooth skin depends on an even, well-supported layer of collagen beneath the surface. Acne scarring happens when a breakout damages that layer and it heals unevenly, leaving small depressions or raised areas. Rough texture and enlarged pores come from a mix of sun damage, ageing and a slowdown in the skin’s natural renewal.

The common thread is that the problem sits below the surface — which is why exfoliating or resurfacing the top layer alone gives limited results. Lasting improvement comes from prompting the skin to rebuild collagen in the deeper layers.

How and where it shows

  • Acne scarring — soft pitting or unevenness left by past breakouts.
  • Rough or uneven texture — skin that doesn’t feel or look as smooth as it did.
  • Enlarged pores — more visible pores, often with loss of firmness.
  • Dull, tired-looking skin in need of renewal.

How we treat it

An honest word

RF microneedling suits most skin types and tones, which is one of its strengths. Deep or very established scarring may need a course of sessions and realistic expectations — significant improvement rather than total erasure. Anne will set out honestly what’s achievable for your skin before you commit to anything.
