Thread veins and facial redness.
Those fine red lines across the cheeks and around the nose, the flushing that won’t settle, the high colour that’s crept in over time — the visible vessels behind them can be targeted and faded, calming and clearing the skin.
Why thread veins and redness happen
Thread veins are tiny blood vessels that have become permanently dilated and visible close to the skin’s surface. Facial redness is the same story on a larger scale — many small vessels carrying more colour than you’d like.
They’re driven by a mix of things: genetics, sun damage, temperature extremes, alcohol, and conditions like rosacea. Once a vessel is visibly dilated it won’t retreat on its own — but it can be targeted directly, heated, and faded from view.
How and where it shows
- Facial thread veins — fine red or purple lines, often on the cheeks and around the nose.
- Broken capillaries — small, isolated visible vessels.
- Diffuse redness — a general flush across the cheeks and central face.
- Rosacea-type redness — persistent colour that flares and settles (managed, not cured).
How we treat it
Fading vessels with light.
An honest word
IPL for vessels suits lighter skin tones and surface-level thread veins and redness. Larger or deeper veins, and veins on the legs, need a different approach. Rosacea can be calmed and its redness reduced, but it’s a managed condition rather than a curable one — Anne will always be straight with you about that at consultation.
